Everything you need to know before booking your move with Speedway.
How far in advance should I book my move?
We recommend booking at least 2 to 4 weeks in advance, especially if you are relocating during peak season (May through September) or near the weekends. However, we do our best to accommodate short-notice moves when schedules permit.
Do you offer binding, flat-rate quotes?
Yes! For detailed moving requests, our moving advisors provide transparent, binding flat-rate estimates that will never increase as long as the inventory lists remain accurate. What we quote is what you pay—no hidden service fees, fuel extra charges, or elevator surcharges.
Are my belongings insured during the move?
Speedway is fully licensed and insured according to TXDOT and USDOT standards. Standard Basic Liability (Released Value Protection) is included at no extra cost. We also partner with premium tier moving insurance brokers to facilitate Full Value Replacement (FVP) insurance certificates for peace of mind.
Are there any items you cannot transport?
By regulation, we are strictly unable to move hazardous, flammable, or combustible items such as propane tanks, aerosol cans, fireworks, paint thinners, motorized batteries, and loaded weaponry. We also recommend customers carry extremely high-value personal objects like passports, expensive jewelry, and medication with themselves directly in their transport.
How is the hourly charge calculated for local moves?
Our hourly rate is applied from the moment we arrive at your starting address to the moment we complete the final placement at your destination. A travel fee is typically calculated once to cover transit to and from our Houston headquarters.
